Welcome to Grace Episcopal Church

Welcome to Grace Episcopal Church! We are glad you are here. If you have not already completed a newcomer card, please click here so that we can get to know you and keep you up-to-date with everything happening at Grace.

A Letter from Rev. Hawthorne

Thank you for visiting Grace Episcopal Church! We are so happy you came to worship with us, and we cannot wait to get to know you. I am Reverend Ryan Hawthorne and I am the Rector at Grace. I want to welcome you to our church family.

We would love to connect with you and answer any questions you may have about The Episcopal Church, Grace, our school, or any other way we can support you in your faith journey.

We welcome you to worship with us at our English-speaking service on Sundays at 10 a.m. or our Spanish- speaking service on Sundays at 12 p.m.

We also welcome you to our Adult Formation Class on Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Parish Hall.

If you are not ready to go home after either service, join us immediately following for Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall. If you have any questions about our Church, Service, School or Community, please fill out our Newcomer Form above, and a member of our Newcomer Team will reach out to you. I am also available for coffee and questions. Please view my Calendly to schedule a time.

We look forward to getting to know you, and please know that no matter where you are in your faith journey, you are welcome here.

Peace and Blessings,
Rev. Ryan

Communion

The Eucharist (Holy Communion) is the center of our service and is celebrated every Sunday. All baptized Christians of any denomination or Christian tradition are welcome to receive communion in the Episcopal Church. You do not need to be a member of Grace Episcopal Church to receive communion. If you do not wish to receive communion, you are still welcome to come to the altar for a blessing. Cross your arms to indicate you would like to receive a blessing.

What do Episcopalians Believe?

Episcopalians believe that the Nicene Creed and Apostles' Creed are central to our beliefs. We believe that the bible is divinely inspired. We utilize the Book of Common Prayer to guide our focus on the Bible readings and teachings. Services may be traditional or contemporary but are similar in the following of the Book of Common Prayer. The Episcopal Church is between the Protestant and Catholic traditions and has the fundamental belief that God loves us all, even though we may have differing faith practices or beliefs. We invite you to worship with us!

Becoming a member of Grace Episcopal Church

No matter your background, there is a place here for you at Grace. If you are interested in becoming a member, contact [email protected]. All baptized Christians may become a member of Grace Episcopal Church. If you are a confirmed Episcopalian, we will request a Canonical Letter of Transfer from your former parish. If you have questions, please contact the church office and they will provide you with more information.

Ministry

Grace offers several ministries so that we may better connect with each other and serve our communities. Whether you're looking to serve on Sunday mornings or grow within your church community throughout the week, Grace has a place for you.

Children

Children are welcome anywhere in our Sanctuary. We offer a children’s “Pray Ground” area in the back of the sanctuary where children can move around, read or play quietly with toys. We offer the Children’s Chapel for children ages four through fifth grade. Children exit early in the service with our Children’s Minister for their education and worship, and return for Holy Communion. Children are welcome to receive communion and blessings. We also offer an Adolescent program after the 10 a.m. service, where adolescents can find their community within the church. Our Children’s Minister also supervises this group. Grace is also blessed to be home to an Episcopal Day School. This school provides education to 6-week-old up to kindergarten age. For more information on the school, please contact 832-389-2683 or visit Grace Episcopal School's website.

On behalf of the Newcomer Committee, we welcome you to Grace and hope that you have found your new church home. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the church at [email protected], and a member of the Newcomer team will reach out to you.
